Crochet Workshops

Materials are supplied for each workshop (unless otherwise stated) or you are welcome to bring your own materials -- check with us beforehand to see what you will need

All workshops booked online are done so with a deposit and we will send an email later on for the balance, or it can be paid on the day

Refunds are at the discretion of Ammonite Yarns but would not normally refunded if a place is cancelled within two weeks of course date

  • Session One

    Basic beginner skills. At the end of the class participants will be able to make a chain and crochet in doubles to make a plain dishcloth

  • Session Two

    How to make taller stitches. At the end of the class, participants will have the skills to make half trebles, trebles, clusters and shells to make a more intricate cloth

  • Session Three

    No more from straight lines and monochrome. At the end of the class, participants will be able to crochet ripples in multiple colours

  • Session Four

    Crocheting in the round. At the end of the class, participants will be able to crochet flat circles and granny squares

  • Session One

    Read a simple Tunisian crochet chart
    Make a chain and work a return row to create a foundation row
    Working a forward row in Tunisian Simple stitch
    Working a forward row in Tunisian Purl Stitch
    Working a forward row in Tunisian Knit Stitch
    Keeping edges neat and straight
    How to Cast off 

  • Session Two

    Review homework
    Check that the edges are straight 
    Review any stitches from week one as necessary
    Casting off (reminder)
    Tunisian rib stitch
    Tunisian moss stitch
    Tunisian full stitch
    Honeycomb stitch

  • Session Three

    Basic increases and decreases
    Extended stitches and where they are used
    Trebles 
    Chevrons
    Changing colours

  • Session Four

    Other stitches and ideas for patterns
    Patterning on the return row -- Clusters etc
    Bobbles (single and/or two colour)
