Crochet Workshops

Materials are supplied for each workshop (unless otherwise stated) or you are welcome to bring your own materials -- check with us beforehand to see what you will need

All workshops booked online are done so with a deposit and we will send an email later on for the balance, or it can be paid on the day

Refunds are at the discretion of Ammonite Yarns but would not normally refunded if a place is cancelled within two weeks of course date

Learn to Crochet Courses

Our Learn to Crochet classes are multi-session courses for absolute beginners.  Beginning at the beginning with a slip-knot and learners find out how to create fabric using just a crochet hook and yarn

There are four sessions, each based around learning basic skills

Each session builds upon skills learned in the previous one beginning from absolute novice and ending with the skills to produce basic crochet items

All sessions need to be booked in advance and take a maximum of four students

Session One

Basic beginner skills. At the end of the class participants will be able to make a chain and crochet in doubles to make a plain dishcloth

Session Two

How to make taller stitches. At the end of the class, participants will have the skills to make half trebles, trebles, clusters and shells to make a more intricate cloth

Session Three

No more from straight lines and monochrome. At the end of the class, participants will be able to crochet ripples in multiple colours

Session Four

Crocheting in the round. At the end of the class, participants will be able to crochet flat circles and granny squares

Crochet Technique and Project Workshops

These workshops are not for absolute beginners (unless otherwise stated) but enthusiastic novices will enjoy them, together with more experienced crocheters.

Learn Tunisian Crochet

Previous experience of knitting or crochet is helpful but not essential as our four week course starts with the basics so is fine for absolute novices
