Knitting Workshops

Materials are supplied for each workshop (unless otherwise stated) or you are welcome to bring your own materials -- check with us beforehand to see what you will need

All workshops booked online are done so with a deposit and we will send an email later on for the balance, or it can be paid on the day

Refunds are at the discretion of Ammonite Yarns but would not normally refunded if a place is cancelled within two weeks of course date

Learn to Knit

These courses are for all about learning to knit basic stitches and shaping. Aimed at absolute novices.

There are two sessions, each based around learning basic skills.

As far as possible the sessions are alternate weeks and we encourage you to come along to the Saturday Knitting Society session too for extra help.

    Learn the Knit Stitch
    How to work knit (plain) stitches
    How to Cast on and Cast off
    How to measure tension

  • Session Two

    Learn the Purl Stitch
    How to work purl stitches
    How to Increase and Decrease
    How to measure tension

Technique and Project Workshops

come along to one of our stand-alone workshops and enjoy learning a new technique in a small group.  we offer short, intensive workshops as well as longer, more relaxed sessions where we ensure there is enough time to embed the skills learned with practise and regular breaks.

Not for absolute novices, participants need to be able to, at least, knit and purl.  Please check individual workshops for skills required.
